There is typical uniform I picture on myself when I think of fall - jeans, boots (now that I found some that fit my calves), a cute top with a cardigan, and a scarf. It is this kind of outfit that is easy to throw on, comfortable, and perfect for almost any occasion in my neck of the woods.
When Kiyonna sent this Sunset Stroll Bellini to me, I was hoping fall would come a lot sooner. I imagined it with an outfit just as I have presented it to you, but the weather has not been cooperative at all. However, today things are cooling down and I foresee getting a lot of wear out of this great piece.
The stretchy fabric of this cardigan is lightweight enough not to be too warm, but also provides nice coverage. I love how it hangs and gathers so beautifully. The three-quarter sleeves are perfect for me because I tend to get too warm in other people's houses in the fall and winter months. Sometimes finding that perfect cardigan for your body temperature is really difficult! This is another reason why this cardigan and I will get along well.
The drawstring gathering has very long, thin ties that can also be used to tie in the back, creating more of a wrap top look. I chose to wear mine more open in the front so all of the colors from my cami could peek out. I am also really, really happy with the longer length of this piece. When I'm wearing skinny jeans and boots, I tend to like more volume and length on top. For reference, I am 5'9" and wearing a size 3X.
Kiyonna is carrying this Bellini in grey, blue, and a new burgundy color!

What is your favorite fall "uniform"?
Disclosure: I am a member of the Kiyonna Blogger Brigade and they provided me with the cardigan in this post. All opinions on the item are my own.
I love that color...and I also love the scarf. My fall uniform is probably a dress and tights and either boots or mary janes. Fall doesn't really hit here till mid-to-late October, sadly.
ReplyDeleteAs if on cue, it started raining here yesterday....and we have an outdoor concert to attend tomorrow. LOL Fall is sort of upon us. I love the uniform of a dress, tights, and boots. I have an ASOS floral skater dress, very 90s, that I haven't worn yet because I am waiting for fall weather. It is going with leggings, boots, and my new faux leather vest. I may even do a 90s burgundy lip.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so gorgeous on you! I love the blue and the scarf. I was a Family and Consumer Science teacher but I MUST admit I never was good at putting things together. I love your blog and plan to be your newest follower. What a great gift you are to the young women who identify with us plus sizers!!
ReplyDeleteI bought the same cardigan this week and I'm in love with it! I like the combination you made with the scarf!
ReplyDeleteI've so much catching up to do (what else is new?)! We're home from Scotland, and I should have a motherload of posts coming about our vacation. I'm planning on sitting down Monday and getting caught up on all my favorite blogs, so expect lots from me come Monday!
ReplyDeleteI did see you post this cardigan on IG though, and I had to learn more about it. Of course it's from Kiyonna. When oh when will I finally get around to ordering from them? Some of those waterfall cardigans are so shapeless, but this one cuts such a lovely figure. I love how you styled it with the printed scarf and long necklace. I love the scarf/necklace layering trend. So boho and cute! Such a great palette for fall but still really vivid and pretty.
Anyways - I will be in touch! Soon!

Is it the one with sunflowers and buttons down the front? I totally bought that one...because it reminds me of my favorite dress FROM the 90's...the one I wore in all my underage-drinking, gay-bar-hopping glory.
ReplyDeleteNo, I couldn't buy the sunflower one. Even though I totally had at least 3 sunflower dresses in the 90s, they all came with bad memories. This one is a black background with yellow/pinkish/turquoise flowers on it in a small floral print. They called it Ditsy Floral. I didn't see it online anymore or I would have included a link.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Pat! I really appreciate those kind words. Welcome to the blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Liz! I'm so excited to read about your vacation and am so happy you made it home safe! Kiyonna is going to carry this cardigan in pink in October (as part of breast cancer awareness month, with 100% of the proceeds from the sales of that color going to a breast cancer foundation), so that may be up your alley. I don't know what shade of pink it is going to be, but mine should be arriving next week and I can give you the scoop. I look forward to hearing more from you and also catching up on all the fun over on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThat's the most adorable outfit! I love skinny jeans, boots and long cardigans in fall/winter. I love the cardigan, it's so cute! You look fantastic, I've really enjoyed reading your blog since I stumbled upon it almost a year ago. I'm sooo ready for fall weather, we had it a couple weeks ago it was the 60s/70s this week it jumped back up to 80+.
ReplyDeleteOh no to the 80+ weather! UGH. I really just started being more fall like the day after I posted this outfit. lol Of course, they means clouds, but I would much rather be too cold than too hot.
ReplyDeleteThank you about the outfit. I am seriously so excited for jeans, boots, and sweaters. I want to put all those things on, go to a pumpkin patch, and drink hot chocolate. lol
Thank you so much for being a long-time reader. I am really happy that you are enjoying the blog and I hope to continue that pattern!
You still need to do that lipstick post!
