Before we headed out to Seattle, we celebrated on the actual day of our anniversary. We usually try to go back to the hotel/restaurant/winery/golf course where we were married every year to commemorate the day. I love that it is a place we can actually go and spend time and remember, not only our wedding day, but the night we got engaged and one of our first dates...among many other dates we had there. It is just a super fun place!
Because we had to attend Bunco that evening, an early dinner was in order. We had delicious steak, veggies, scallops, and a salted caramel dessert with coffee. Right before we left, I remembered I needed to do outfit photos. The vineyard seemed like a great backdrop.
I actually lucked out finding this dress at my local Torrid. I think it may have been a return (and in my size!), so when I saw it on the rack I snatched it up to try on. I am normally in a 3 at Torrid now, but this dress is a 4 and fit very well. The sleeves are a tad short for my liking, but nothing crazy. I just adore the mix of stripes and floral, secretly coveting the dress online long before I found it in store.
The top portion is a super stretchy knit, while the bottom is rayon. No stretch, but it flows nicely. It does have the potential to wrinkle easily, so keep that in mind. I added the red necklace for contrast against the stripes and to pull the darker red from the rose pattern. The dress is only available in a 2 online, but check your store just in case.
PS - Totally aware my slip is showing. It was super windy, so Sean couldn't capture it at just the right moment. I have ordered a new slip which *fingers crossed* is a bit shorter.
It was a little bit chilly that day, so I added my new lace hooded cardigan (which I LOVE) over the dress. I really love how the stripes can peek through the lace in front and back. I am wearing the cardigan in a 3 for a roomier fit. Size down if you are interested in a more fitted look.
I wanted to keep my footwear lighter, so I went with my Adrina Crocs. I have the same style in pink and turquoise. They are so comfortable and really cute. I always get compliments on them when I am out and about. I did order a size down in these black ones and they are a tad too snug. Stick with your usual size and you should be fine.
