Thankfulness Thursday: Week 10 - Productivity and Organization

This is Week 10 of Thankfulness Thursdays.  Through Thanksgiving, I will be posting once a week about something/someone(s) I am thankful for.  This is a link-up with Ashley from Domestic Fashionista.

Being organized and productive is important in any most aspects of life.  As a blogger, I am constantly checking out Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and the like.  There are so many links to follow, articles to read, and blogs to check out.  Plus, add in email and keeping up with my personal life and you have a recipe for chaos.

I constantly have a zillion tabs open on my computer, constantly juggling many aspects of life at one time. My husband pointed me to Too Many Tabs, an extension for your web browser (I use Chrome) that allows you to save your tabs without them taking up memory on your hard drive.  It is an incredibly easy thing to use and has saved me a lot of time.  No more waiting for pages to load while I get angry at the computer.  It frees up a lot of memory for me so I can stay organized and get things done!

If you are using Chrome, open up a new tab and visit the Chrome Web Store.  Type in "Too Many Tabs" in the search box.  Add it to Chrome and a little icon will be in your Toolbar.

The little number there is how many tabs you have open at the moment.  You can click on the icon and a window pops up in your screen.  (See below)  You will see your open tabs in the big area with little arrows next to those tabs.  By clicking on the arrow, you are saving your open tab to the list on the right-hand side of the screen.  You can then access this list when you are ready to deal with these extra tabs.

In addition to Too Many Tabs, I would also recommend FlashBlock and AdBlock to save you some sanity if you have a busy computer screen like me.  (Both of these are also extensions via Chrome and Firefox as well.)

I'm so thankful that there are people capable of making these great applications that save me from having steam come out of my ears when I get overwhelmed and frustrated. lol  Do you have any favorite applications that help you stay productive while working on the computer?

  4. Definitely! I went Chrome a while ago and love it! I use Firefox on my second monitor so I don't have to constantly sign in and sign out of stuff. It has helped me a lot.
